In school we were taught that the brain in our head is the number one organ in our body. The new science is showing us now, that that the brain is constantly getting messages and instruction from the heart and the gut - the body! This is a whole new way for science to show us how we have a 'new' relationship between the brain and the body. And science can now show that the quality of the emotions that we create within our heart determines the 'signal' that goes to the brain to release the chemistry to our bodies. This conversation happens all day. Every moment of the day we create an inner environment of thoughts, feelings, emotions and beliefs and these can be either healing or toxic.

mBraining is a new field of coaching and is able to explain that our body has more than one group of neurons (a neural network) and these have the function of learning, adaptation and memory. The ability of these networks to do this gives them similar characteristics to what the brain in our heads do, although these other groups perform different functions. It is incredibly useful to use the functions of these neuronal regions for what they are supposed to do and mBIT - multiple Brain Integration Technique - shows us how we can really amp up our 'internal wisdom' by linking those centres.

The ancient wisdoms and esoteric teachings have been saying for ages what science has not been able to explain......until now. mBIT is where neuroscience meets that ancient wisdom, explains their teachings and gives us a scientifically credible way to tune into our own innate wisdom. Old sayings like 'the heart is the seat of the soul' now actually have a scientific basis and explanation. Exciting times!

Through years and towers of scientific research, years of NLP behavioural modelling research (the model of success), and Positive Psychology, mBIT has been developed and shows how we can (and should) use these neural networks or 'brains' for our own greatest ‘wisdom’. This is the act of mBraining and is the brainchild of Grant Soosalu and Marvin Oka.

The interesting thing is is that we have been referring to these neural networks for years in our language, constantly.

Take a look at these 'embodied cognitive centres'….. (yes that sounds a little weird but stay with the science here.....)

The Head Brain. Our head brain is the most noticed brain in today’s world. It provides us with logic, perception and we all use it in our everyday life. We all understand when something is 'doing our head in' or when something is a ‘no-brainer’ or you have a million ideas in your head making you unable to decide - you are in 'two minds'. Our heads tend to do a lot of self chatter and can sometimes take over the show.

And now it gets a little interesting......

The Heart Brain. Have you ever been 'broken hearted'? We all know when we have our ‘heart on our sleeve’ that it means absolute truth and honesty. 'Follow your heart'. 'My heart is just not in it'. Think of love and joy. Where would you feel that it comes from – yep. Our hearts - the place for emotions, relationship, and values. The centre for our cardiac network of nervous pathways.

The Gut Brain. Those gut feelings are real and are considered to be trustworthy. Think of intuition. Think of the language we use about courage – ‘That took gutsy action’. Consider when you deeply ‘know’ something and where that feeling sits. Or when you are nervous and how your gut shows you by sending you off to the loo! This area is the place for intuition, identity, safety, mobilisation and courage. It is where we have the enteric nervous system - an enormous collection of nerves and tissue to keep that stinky plumbing of the gut working well, and more.

So mBIT is the process of gently pulling your multiple brains (also called clusters/ information centres/ souls) into alignment so that you are suitably motivated to take action (gut) in something that has true value (heart) to you with creative (head) thinking for a great outcome. The result is using your multiple brains in a coherent way - mBraining, and when they are aligned, decisions happen easily.

Think of a time when something didn’t go well at all. Were you motivated to do a great job? Could you be bothered because it wasn’t important to you? Or did you go with a random idea that looking back….What were you thinking? Can you love somebody with only your head? Can you have so much going on in your head, that it is ‘doing your head in’? Do you know anybody who ‘wears their heart on their sleeve’ a little too often? Notice the language we use to describe our ways of being. And notice how maybe a particular neuronal centre in these sayings may be a little 'off line'. That means it could be too strong, or not strong enough.

mBIT coaching is done by using multiple Brain Integration Technique – get those neural networks lined up, on the same page and let them be used in their highest expressions of Creativity, Compassion, Courage and Connectivity. The implications of working your body at this level is profound. It is truly an experience of change.

Let the human spirit emerge!

mBIT coaching is generative coaching and I am constantly amazed at the individual wisdom generated with clients, specific to just them. Nobody is the same as each ‘solution’ or way of being is individual to that particular client.

We have all experienced....

  • Conflict between thought, feelings and actions

  • Times of unexplainable personal inaction towards dreams, goals or agreed plans

  • Trouble making decisions or stopping unwanted habits without knowing why

  • Feeling like something is missing, a disconnection from our deepest inner self.

Those heart felt feelings are indeed real and those gut feelings are not some imaginary response that should be overridden by thoughts programmed to us. So how do you ‘follow your heart’, or ‘get out of your head’, or ‘take gutsy action on that project’? That’s right – mBraining! Using your multiple brains in an aligned way. Get your head making creative sense, your heart fully in it and your gut ready to take action. Making it easy and fun. A ‘no-brainer’.

Why I Love It

Working 1:1 with clients is a wonderful career. I have been doing it for a long time and have put in many, many hours of training and supervision and participate in practise groups.

Yet, previously I saw clients leave a session with me, fired up to carry on with the changes they made, but upon checking in with them weeks later I discovered that the 'fire' had died down and they were not moving forward as they had wanted to.

And then I was trained in mBraining. What a difference to the transformations obtained in the coaching session going forward in their lives. Clients I guide through the mBraining technique learn more about their own 'self', relationships and find deep motivation to put those learnings into action.

I absolutely LOVE using the process of mBIT, and having the process used with me! I have never before experienced or facilitated such permanent change, that the whole body feels, encompasses and just 'gets'. The results are more than just a good idea at 'head' level which regular coaching often does. If only the head is involved in making decisions, then the motivation is not there to see it through - like a New Years resolution.

Many coaching modalities use fantastic techniques but they are 'aimed at the head'. With mBIT the whole body moves into alignment and contributes to the change as it integrates the communication from the other centres of information.

I urge you to experience this work. To give your body a chance to share it's wisdom and to notice how you feel in the resolution of a problem or change. And believe me, the body has tremendous wisdom and a wish to heal.

Words are hard to explain the 'solid resolution and alignment' that happens. The peace and 'ability to get on and progress in a positive forward motion' that results. It just feels different - more resolute.

I have used mBIT in processes where health is of the biggest concern. The results have been astounding.

And I am only one of two Master mBIT coaches in this country! And I really look forward to the day that there are more.
